Carl’s connection to Latin culture began early in life. After his parents immigrated to Mexico City, he spent much of his childhood in Latin America, immersed in its vibrant languages, music, and traditions. While studying at university, Carl served as President of the Humanitarian Organization of Latin American Students (HOLAS), leading initiatives to raise funds for development projects across Central and South America and the Caribbean.
A passionate traveler, Carl has backpacked extensively throughout Latin America, deepening his appreciation for the region’s diversity and spirit. Inspired by these experiences, he co-founded Latin Sparks Festival to share the energy, warmth, and cultural richness of LatinAmerica with audiences in Canada.
When he’s not organizing one of the country’s funnest Latin parties, Carl works in the field ofartificial intelligence (AI), enjoys staying active at the gym, and continues to explore the worldone country at a time.
Kareem’s connection to Latin America was shaped through lived experience. After spending several years living in Colombia and Mexico, he went on to travel extensively across Latin America for over a decade, immersing himself in the region’s culture, rhythm, and way of life. Those years instilled a deep appreciation for the celebration of life, dance, music, and community that define Latin culture.
Inspired by what he experienced firsthand, Kareem set out to bring that energy back to Canada — creating spaces where Latinos can connect with their roots and where those outside the culture can engage, learn, and celebrate it authentically. This vision led him to co-found Latin Sparks Festival, a platform dedicated to sharing the vibrancy and soul of Latin America through music, dance, and cultural experiences.
When he’s not building festivals or immersive experiences, Kareem is an entrepreneur in the travel and events space, constantly exploring new destinations and ideas. At his core, he’s driven by connection — bringing people together through culture, movement, and unforgettable shared moments.
